Idle too high at start up

I have a '93 Si. Runs great, especially when warm, but everytime I start it, even in the warm weather, the idle jumps to around 1800 and takes at least 5 mins to drop under 1000. I know it's not the oil being too thick cuz I have standard 10W-30 and its 80 degrees out! I was thinking FITV maybe? Is there anything I'm missing??

Read your manual or any car manual. That's 100% normal, the ECU controls your cold idle and it will stay around 1800 or so until it is completely warmed up. Usually is at normal operating temp after two fan cycles

Hm, thats interesting, it was seeming like it held there for too long. But no it happens every time I start it regardless of the outside temp.
