Idle Problems

Here's the back ground...

Goin' down the road, letting the RPM's redline. Pull up to a red light after about 2 minutes of redline's. Then I had a problem.

The Problem...

My car was idling high, right around 1400 rpm. Then it acted like it was trying to idle down. It'd get close to 1000 rpm and and then rise back to 1400. It would do this 4 or 5 times before finally stop and idle close to 2000 rpm's.

The Solution....

I don't have one. I hope some one can help me out here. I read the things on radiator, but I haven't messed with any of that. Any ideas?

clean out your IAC filter screen. Take off your radiator cap and let it sit for a couple minutes to let any trapped air bubbles come out.

Those are the simple ways to cure idle fluctuation. If those dont work then you will have to investigate further.

I read that post Bio... but it just didn't seem possible.

I haven't had any problems with the radiator before as far as air go, so I went ahead and posted this. But I'm gonna try a few things anyway. Anything to keep from spending to much money.

yes, I remember the eacv which mounts on the front of Intake Manifold was not a small priced item.

I had mine replaced when I had a major Idle/ 0% throttle response problem from it
