Idle dropping

I've had this problem for a while but lately it has gotten worse. I think this was asked a day or two, but I'd like some more opinions. In the middle of the day when I am driving and stopped at a light with the car in neutral, the RPMs drop from the normal 700 to 200-300. The whole car then shakes and feels like its about to stall, then goes back up again. I think I am going to bring it into the shop tomorrow or Fri, if you have any opinions or know how much this might cost post something, thanks.

Your idle could be set low. Could have slipped out of place. Could need to clean your EGR. Could be bad gas. Lots of stuff.

sounds like a timing belt sliping, if you are leaking oil out of your cam seals or valve-cover gasket oil could be leaking down onto ur belt, causing slippage

Two questions, 1. what is the "EGR" and 2. how do I check if my cam seals are leaking?

Timing belts don't slip.. they are toothed belts - they break and smash all the pretty valves into the piston.
