Iceman intakes kick ass...

The company Knight Engineering that makes and sells the iceman Intake are the best people ever. They have the best customer service and warranty service ever. the Iceman intake that I had on my last Prelude actually broke at the little mount bracket and stripped the threads on the intake itself. the guy I sold the car to brought it by the house to see if there was something that I could do about it. I was actually going to just weld the metal bracket back together, until I noticed the mount insert was stripped out. I called knight Engineering to find out about replacement peices so i could buy them and fix the intake. Then I found out that knight Engineering has a 5 year warranty on their stuff, and they are sending me a complete new kit minus the filter which is still in good shape. They said that I can keep the original, all I had to do was fill out a warranty card and send it back. They didn't argue about it or anyhing, I don't even have my original receipt for it. But they are going to live up to the warranty anyway. Kick ass product, kick ass warranty, and kick ass customer service. if you are trying to decide on an intake for your car, Like I always recommend, Iceman intakes hands down.

I've talked to some of their people before in person at LACR, the local drag strip. Knight Engineering is based in Lancaster CA, about 10 minutes from LACR. They were quite rude to me. Glad to hear they're more civil when it comes to other things.

I remeber they where all the rage in the area about 2-3 years ago. Every civic had an iceman sticker.

ICEMAN intakes are CARB exempt. Dr. James, did you ever dyno test the ICEMAN CAI vs an AEM CAI or similar intake?

Wow, good to see a company with good service.

It seems that good customer service and Sport Compact companies are oxymorons.

I didn't even know they were still in business.

There is no CARB sticker on the pipe, but all the ones that I have owned, came with a little CARB sticker that you could put under the hood somewhere.

I did dyno test the Iceman CAI, and the AEM CAI about 2 years ago, and they were both putting down about the same numbers. I remember the iceman was generating about 1.2 more Peak HP up top, but the Tq gain was very minimal. They are both excellent intakes, and it really comes down to personal preference. I prefer the Plastic intakes and not having to trim the opening for the Cold air extension.
