I screwed up something but dont know what

Alright i had the cap of my distributor off, attempting to take the rotor off, and I read somewhere on another thread that I had to align the rotor a certain way to get to the screw. Heres the problem when cranking it without the cap on, i forgot to disconnect the wires going to the coil. Now when i try to crank my car all I hear is this loud fast clicking noise that sounds like its coming from the fuse box in the drivers side floor. HELP PLEASE.

Turn the car to the on position to prime the fuel pump. Do you hear a "click" coming from beneath the steering column? That click is the main fuel relay. It turns on the fuel pump and coil. You might have fried that.

im not sure, its normal when i turn the ignition key to "on", all lights light up, but when i try to start it the loud, rapid, clicking noise starts. Think maybe what happend could have messed up the starter or something like that? I just want to make sure its nothing serious
