I need help with my AEM CAI, its about the air bi-pass valve.

Merry Christmas everyone, I just got an AEM cold air intake for my 93 VTEC. I am so happy to finally get one. I got an air bi-pass valve to go on it. I have a question though. Do I have to cut the tube itself to get the valve on there? If so with what do I cut it with. Also am I going to have to shave off a little of my fender well. Thanks, and happy holidays!!

any sort of pipe cutter should work, and you should relieze most of the po.com ppl stay away from the net on this day, kinda spending time with family whether they want to or not. any how here is what i was told, you wanna use like masking tape and tape around the are you wanna cut. then you wanna grab like a pipe cutter, from ther begine to cut in a straight line. as soon as that is done, you might wanna get some kind of filer or sander so that you can fill down the rough edges, and i would suggest you vaccume or clean the whole inside of the intake so taht no metal shaving are left. Shaving that are left in the intake is bad for the engine.

meryy x-mas to you too. you will love the intake, and what do you mean by bend the fender?

some people told me the wheel whale hole is too small and needs to be cut for the intake pipe to fit in it.

Well if you have been talkin to 5th gen guys then yea they have to cut that hole. but for the 4th gen, yit is a nice tight sung fit, you might wanna line the whole with rubber/silcone tubbing that wha ti did, but its not holding too well, so i am goin to grabber a rubber mallet, and slightly bend it a lil so taht the metal doesn't bite on metal. good luck

hey man, i just put my AEM cold air intake in two days ago. Yes you should shave just a little bit off of the fender and yes you need to cut out a 1 and 5/8 inch section of the pipe. We cut it down where the stock air box was. It fits perfectly. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am.
