I need help modifying my tail lights.

My turn signals are cleared and I'm getting hassled by the cops a bit much lately. What's a good way to change them to red? I was thinking of taking them off and painting the inside red, but if there is a diffuser than fits in I would like to do that. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

here's an option... get a yellow or amber or even red turn signal bulb. as long as it flashes the right color, cops really can't say anything.

^^That's true. Many cars have clear tail housings for the turn signals, but have an orange bulb. ex: the 5th Gen.

5g's have amber colored caps inside the housing, not the bulb itself.

Get some red bulbs at autozone

christmas lights

I recently changed all mine over to clear. I used the red and yellow replacement bulbs for the markers and brake lights. The only problem with the red replacement bulbs is that when they are lit up they are actually pink, like a christmas light. They sell red plastic sleeves to place over the bulbs, this corrects the color however it dims the light. I am going to use a led conversion for the bulb. I'll let you know how it turns out.
