after my h22a swap, i've notice a drop in power around the 3k - vtec rpm area.. i had a h23a before and i'm used to shift ~ 6k or so, when doing that now i pop straight out of vtec and have to work my way up again =|, i'm wondering what kind of mods are possible to bring my low end back?

When advancing timing try to think of it as moving the powerband. If you advance it you'll have more power up top but, you'll make a tiny sacrifice down below. I found 18 degrees past TDC (3 advanced from stock) worked best for me. But, I have an H23a. The pullies will make the whole power band 1-2 hp better!
I've heard that pullies and advancing your timing can help with mid-range power.
pullies can help w/ mid to low range power..but advancing timing does not add any power at all. i WISH it did..b/c that would be a very cheap/easy mod.

what preluda92 wrote is acurate.
hehe it does add power if your timing wasn't anygood to begin with I.E mine was 3 degrees retarded.... She felt alot better after that!

you're right, but in essence you are "adding" power depending on where you spend most of your time in the power band. And yes you can only do it on obd1 (92-95 years).

how did it get to be so retarded..lol. ? well im glad its fixed and its running normal.
btw yeild. im glad you put quotes on "adding" b/c its not increasing anything..its just shifting the powerband over so you hit it sooner. but if you drive in your powerband all the time, your gonna hurt your car and i hope that no one does that ALL the time.
not ALL the time, but most of the time when you are racing, which is when it matters Plus I'm H23 so maybe I'm looking for ways to blow up my engine (swap).
