I miss my baby

Well now that a shop screwed up my lude,I guess now would be a good time to learn more about my motor. I took it apart the other day to try to find a weird kind of knock.I have the h23,h22 hybrid. They told me it was a rod knock but I don't think so because it was more of a muffled sound I didn't always hear it,and it took a while to start. I believe a rod knock would be heard greatest when there was no oil in the motor correct? As in maybe the morning when you first start it up? Any way instead of taking it back to the place that worked on my car. I dove right in myself and took the head off.All I got to say is damn there is alot of **** in there. LOL But now that I have it apart, any suggestions on what pistons, rods, cams I should get???

This is why people do their own installs...shops are sketchy unless you know the people working in them and even then their not 100% reliable...good luck man.
