I found a prelude for sale near me.. 93 white SI with black interior.. 190k.. body in good condition same with interior for $2000.. i want a black prelude.. but this seems to be a good deal because an h22a will run me about $2500 putting the car at $4500 .. so anyways my question is how much would it cost me to paint the car black, even the engine bay and everything? I'm trying to figure out if this is a good deal or not.. thanks for any info
your lookin around 2-4k for a color change depend on how good of a job you want and how complete. rule of tumb since your dropping a h22 paint the car before you drop it, it iwll reduce the price if you paint the engine bay. else sale it to ANDY

o1ambre1o: Given some Malibu, I'd bang you hien!
Jspec81: If you do a scene with Mika, I'll give you $500 and I'm sure others would chip to that pot.
Changing the color is a PITA if you want it done right. You are going to pay out the butt to detrim the car. Hein is also right in that you should paint it while the engine is out. One more note is that black is an expensive color.
let me elaborate... ti will show EVERY dent, ding, scratch, bug, imperfection. black paint is a horrible evil b*tch to take care of. i love the look of black, but the maintenace is insane.
I don't know i just like black cars.. i know they are hard to keep clean.. just a personal preference. i think i am going to keep looking. i am in withdrawl being without a car since i sold my other lude, hopefully i'll be able to find one by the end of next semester so i don't have to spend all summer without a car

I'm very interested in the white Si if you don't want it
Yes black is probably the hardest color to maintain. But to have a pristine car with a flawless, or at least very shiny and swirl-free black paint, it shows how much the owner cares about his car
Just kinda makes you appreciate your car more to make a black car look perfect.
