did a search, didn't really find what i want to know
i know that vtec's front rotor's bigger than si's front rotor, but what's the exact size of the vtec rotor? how many inches? 11....?
also, on Si, is the front rotor larger than the rear rotor or the same size?
if it's different when i swap a vtec front calipers and rotors to the front, can i swap the front calipers and rotors to the rear?
vtec rotors are 11.1" (I think, maybe someone can confirm).
Swaping front rotors to back will be tough. Most likely have to change the brackets and you won't have the e-brake functioning. I think upgrading the front rotors/calipers should be good enough to improve braking...no need to change the rears.
the reason i ask is because my front x-drilled & slotted rotors are really new, once i swap the vtec in i can't use them and it's a waste, if i can swap it to the rear w/out causing any problem, that would be really nice
or else, i have to buy another 4 rotors just for this swap
why wouldnt you be able to use the rotors after the swap? i went from si to vtec and kept the same rotors and calipers...i am upgrading but only because of i scratched my rotors
Let's say you have a si prelude, this means you have smaller brake rotors. You say to yourself, "i need more braking power, what can I do?". The answer is, increase the size of your brake rotors or increase the size of you calipers. By buying vtec calipers you are essentially enabeling yourself to increase the size of your rotors. You are not really increasing you caliper size because it is still a 1 piston calipers...BUT, if you want to increase the rotor and calipers, buy acura legend calipers and vtec rotors. You are increasing to 2 piston calipers and 11.1" rotors.
Sorry if I'm partial the legend caliper/vtec rotor swap, but that's what I got.

yea, since you swapped your engie and addedd some extra HP, stock Si brake system isn't gonna stop it as fast as VTEC brake system would... it could be worse you could've had the S model brakes... sheeesh
i am asking if it's possible to swap the front to the rear
my Si's front rotors are very new, i just bought them, if i swap to vtec calipers and rotors, i can't use the si's rotors anymore, and i wanted to know if it's possble to the si's rotors at the rear

ALso
I will probaly do the ledgend upgrade within the next year. TO cut costs in half can I do the Vtec rotors and ss lines with si calipers/pads, and later get the ledgend calipers/vtec pads??
thanks

No, si calipers and vtec rotors are not compatable. Wait till you can afford all the parts and do it all at one time.
thnx.
Will ss lines work with si calipers and then switch over to legend
calipers. Because I think just ss alone would help my braking situation well. Thats really the only thing that I dislike on the lude is the braking compared to the acceration capabilities are kinda ****ty!!!
OH well I guess thats why theres upgrades

stainless lines will not help your actual braking. they effect the pedal feel.
