I have a hole in my exhaust

It keeps getting louder and louder and sounds worse and worse (ricey). Do the repair kits that they sell at Pep Boys work well, because I just picked one up.

Thanks

Sorry Pat, but those repair kits don't do much at all especially if it is near a flange that isn't easily accessable.

I haven't had any luck with those in the past, it's probably time for a new exhaust.

Back before I got my thermal I had some exhaust leaks. The pipe to the muffler was splitting. I tried just about every kind of quick fix patch and found that at best, most of them lasted about a week. After several months of this I went to a muffler shop and got it welded up, which probably cost less than I had invested in those damn patch kits. That lasted several months until I finally got my Thermal.

when the piping broke on my truck due to off roading, i just took it to an exhaust shop, gave the guy 10 bucks to weld it back together.

so it should be less just to patch up a hole.
