Does anyone have any advice on a new radiator I can purchase that wont cost as much as Honda wants for theirs? I need all the help I can get since I dont have much time to surf the web myself... I barely have time to write this.
Thanks alot!
do a search in this forum - lots of websites will be listed that you can check out!! Most are very cheap - OEM for around $100 or a little more for 2 row radiators that are closer to $200.
If you happen to choose OEM or OEM knock-off, make sure you get the right one. There are two knock-off radiators for the Lude. One for the S and another for the Si. There is not one specifically listed for the VTEC but the Si radiator will fit the VTEC. Actually they are the same radiator.
I metioned this only because I went through a huge mess trying to get the right radaitor and kept on getting the wrong one. It also did not help the guy ordering the radiator did not know Ludes and the model lineup that well.
Go with a Koyo radiator. I had to get a new radiator a while back and I noticed that the Koyo radiator for our cars has the same construction as Fluidyne's (though the latter doesn't have a 4th gen application)
It was one of the better purchases I've made. I love this radiator. I'm now fully confident that my cooling system will be adequate for whatever mods I plan on doing to my car.
The price was a little higher than stock, I think...but I'm a firm believer in replacing items with higher quality ones. If you have to spend $$ on a radiator anyway, you may as well get something better than the stock one.
i got a radiation from a place in forestdale or something. just a radiator that NO ONE had heard or, literally. I have had i a year and a half,,,,,and no problems with it, Just get any kind. It wasn't even $100. Works fine for me. Just my experience..
well you don't just want "any" kind. Look at the oem radiators. Soooooo many people on this board have had the plastic end tanks crack on them. Luckily most replacements are full metal radiators.
Got mine locally for $120 or so two years ago, shortly after I bought the car; my dad and I noticed the OEM one was plastic, so we made sure to get a metal one. Works great, no leaks or anything...
