I got a new car!

Well i have sold my probe se and bought a 93 prelude si with new H23 motor in it around 70,000 miles. It came with a shogun lip and skirts, iceman intake, dc sport header, exhuast, centerforce DF clutch, and resurfaced flywheel. i am so happy to have this car. i just have a couple questions, what will i probably run in my 1/8 track if i am a good driver and what would i most likely run if i am not. i ran a best of 10.402 @66.66 in my probe which wasnt bad for a probe and what are the best shiftpoints in this car cause when you hit 6 K in the probe it starts losing power and is already at the end of the powerband, just wondering what my ludes' is. ive ive racked up alot of posts at my old forum www.probetalk.com and learned everything there was to know about that car but im happy to move on too bigger and better places which im sure this board is anyways just wanted to say whats up to all my fellow luders

Welcome to the board I'm not sure of the times you're looking for, but there are plenty of H23 owners who will help you out.

welcome, my guess in teh 1/8th with those mods your in the low-mid 9's... Depending on if you can launch it well, etc etc.
That is just a guess, never ran a 1/8th before, but judging by the times on hondaprelude.com in the timeslip registry.. the vtec ones are running 9.5ish or so. and i figure w/ those mods your about in that ballpark at that short of distance.

But welcome aboard!! Another Si =] w00t w00t.

welcome guys, and I think low to mid 9s is a bit optimistic, but I think right around 10 flat would be resonable. Also, with the Si, it also starts losing power around 6100 or so RPMS, I generally find that shifting at 6200 works best.

haha i know they wouldnt let me fit in the whole furious, i do have some pics and ill post them pretty soon. its balck and it also came with a tach, airfuel gauge, some apex mph/rpms guage that i have no idea on how to work. thanks for the replies. well my friend when he ran his lude at the track he ran around 10.2-10.3
with a best around 10.0 but im sure i can break into the 9's with it with a good launch,i think he also had a sub and his girl rode with him. i just ordered some dropzone coilovers, anyone have any experience with them?

I think he'd run better than a ten flat. I have a VTEC model, so I don't know much about the H23's, but my boyfriend has a 3rd gen SI with I/E and he runs flat 10's. I thought you guys were a little faster than the 3rd gens! Once again, correct me if I'm wrong. I really haven't had much experiece with the H23's.

Thank You

If you have good conditions I bet you can hit 9's in a 1/8 mile.

Dont you have any 1/4 mile tracks near you?

you wanna know what the REEEAAALL red-line is? It's where the freakin white changes to red on the tach!! That flashy new car of yours wont last too long if you go bouncin off the rev-limiter constantly.
