I finally got my lude back after 5 years. What to do first?

Hello all,
I am happy to find this site. Well like I said I finally got my baby back. It is a Brittney green 93 prelude h22a1 with 170k on it. First what happened. Well I was in a very bad relationship with a girl. And it was just going to keep getting worse and worse unless I left town. So I moved to Florida for 4 years. I had my dad pick it up for me and store it on a mechanic friend of his farm. The water pump was leaking before I left. So I sent money back to Minnesota to get the timing and water pump done when I was down there. Well it never got done. Try as I might I could never get back to Minnesota to make sure it got done. And come to find out that the car had been broken into, hot wired , driven around this farm, spray painted, and had the windows left opened for years apparently. And had been the home to I don't know how many generations of mice. So I finally came back to Minnesota and one year later of trying to get this mechanic off his but to get it at least somewhat presentable. I got it back. Well the 4000$ dollar stereo system I had in it is gone obviously. I had wired rope neon throughout the inside and tube neon also inside. One piece of the neon works. Lame I had spent along time on that approx 100 hours. I had wired in 8 switches. The car reeks so bad it's hard to be in it. My oil pan gasket is leaking bad. Which I will be replacing this weekend. A hole in my exhaust. I had not done alot with the motor at this point. The only thing I did was a weapon r cold air intake to the engine. I just had the timing belt and water pump done again on it. So the question is for you guys is what do you recommend to do first to my car/engine? I have a spending limit of about 500$ per project with this. Also how do I get dead mice smell from my car?

omg your poor car! Try Febreze or some serious steam cleaning. Good luck.

Holy crap. You're going to have to gut the interior and clean like a mofo.

Maybe its time to part it out and start from scratch

this.

sounds like it's in pretty bad shape... i'd probably just salvage what you can, sell the rest, and start over.

I'd just try to save what I could. Sand it all down, and start new.

gut the inside for sure and get new interior.. cloth is a very odor catching material.. i would also take the dash apart in case they crawled up there as well.

Mice like to chew on wiring, so be prepared for an electrical nightmare.

Sorry to hear about you and your lude! Replacing the inside could get pretty spendy. A good way to maybe save some money is get it professionally detailed. My friend has a car that he only uses to drive around on his farm and it had cow **** and all that stuff in it. A good detailling at about 100 bucks and it smelt better than new. The thing about mice though is that their poo and pee is toxic when it turns to dust so be careful about being in it and what not. photos?

It's not as bad as is sounds, at least not now at least. The spay paint has been removed, at definitely the cost of my finish. I will be doing the oil pan gasket and eBay headers to cat, on Thurs. I am trying to find my camera. I will get them on here soon. Thanks for all of you thoughts, and jokes it makes me laugh, when I? feel like shedding a tear.
The mouse smell is still present yuck!!!!!!
Who knew that they could smell so bad.

Instead of 500 per project get the exhaust welded and the oil pan gasket. The rest should be spent on replacing what you need to on the interior so you can drive it around. First just take out all the seats and carpet and shampoo the hell out of them. See how they smell after that.
Good luck with the project.

Well I did My oil pan gasket today. I put on my eBay headers back through the cat. And it seams to run pretty good. As I was under the car I had noticed that my oil pressure sensor/ I guess I don't know the correct name for it but the thing that would have told me if I was low on oil had been chewed through. also apparently the power steering sensor at least that's what the mechanic that was helping me said it was, was chewed through. Along with other hoses that I have no idea what the did were chewed through. When I was doing my exhaust even the rubber thing that holds it up to the other metal piece had been chewed. Sorry guys that I don't know the actual name of these things. I'll just try to explain what they do if I know. Yes all the neon through out has been chewed through and mangled. Either by the mice or the thieves. I replaced both door locks and trunk lock today. Due to the thieves having to mangled those also. I can't seem to find my camera. I may go buy a new one tomorrow so I can keep you guys updated.
