I was bored today so I bought this...

Got all of 'em for $200 flat @ inlinefour.com. What do you guys think? Good deal or not? BTW what's a Molycote 77 (for the shims)? Is it just another name for lithium grease?

Very nice, I'd say it's a good deal, I got my front 2 Brembos for 115 shipped, which was a good deal in itself.

I don't do autoXing but I do mountain runs like 3-4 times a year (from Prelude meets) and overall I drive like a granny on the freeway and I keep my distance between cars. I think I should be ok.

did you get all four rotors? or just the front two? Sounds like a pretty cool upgrade, unfortunately i'm probably doing it more because of the looks, hehe,, my rusted old calipers and rotors look like ass behind my big wheels..

Screw the Molycote 77, I tried it once, it looks, feels, taste (jk), like regular lithium grease. I've been using regular lithium grease on every brake job that I do, no complaints.

lithium grease it is then. I got tons of 'em And yea 200 is just for the fronts. Since our fronts do most of the job it will be a waste to upgrade the rears. Although I woudn't mind having powerslots in the rear for looks.

Peace,
Justin

I have the Powerslots and totally love them. Sure, it's not a BIG brake conversion, but it was an improvement over the worthless, stock Si rotors.

hehe actually I was saving $$$ for this mod. I was torn between Legend calipers and stock calipers....one day I had nothing to do and just decided to screw the legend calipers and buy the rotors and brake pads. I could use that extra money for something else.

Lithium grease works just like regular grease but it retains consistency over a wide range of temperatures. Usually applied on high performance bearings, gears and other mechanisms under sliding and rolling friction conditions.

When used on brakes, it helps with brake noise/squeels. The caliper and pad is metal to metal, the grease helps dampen the noise. Of course if your pads are worn low, nothing could prevent that type of squeeling.
