Huge Problem! VTEC!?!

It's a '94 prelude VTEC that has been sitting for a long time. When I first got it ran fine. But then the next day the thing started hesitating mad amount of poping noise coming out of the exhaust when ever I hit the gas. The car just would not accelerate. I replaced the plugs which looked very worn with cheap bosch which seem to help a lot. But I still get this hesitation from 1-2 rpm and 4 above. When it hits VTEC the thing starts poping like crazy and no power at all.

What could be the problem?

Plugs? Distributor?

Did you check both of those?

Yes, I did. I used a resistance meter to test each wire and also removed distributor cap and everything seemed 'OK and also replaced a fuel filter. I even tried putting blaster 3 coil and it did not do help. DO you think my distributor went bad?!

change your distributor cap and rotor. Also try some new premium gas, fill your tank about half way, then pour some Fuel Injection in it.

seems to help me.

OIL

You might also want to change your oil.... I know that VTEC is oil pressue dependant, and when my car get low on engine oil.. vtec engagement can be kinda shoddy.....

I have enough oil in the car 5qts because I did change it. It does not just happin when I go into VTEC although it constantly does it when I do, but sometimes when I'm at a stop and then accelerate or if I'm going up the hill. I took out my new plugs to see what I can find, turns out one of them has oil over its washer and some on the thread and there is some inside the cylinder head but it does not look like its leaking through valve cover because I checked. Do you guys think I'm getting oil leak into combusion chamber which causes the plug to foul? The plug does not look any different than the others besides the oil thing...

There is a 72 hour cool down period, after purchasing a car.

You have that much time to take it back, from the time of purchase.
