how would i convert external coil to internal coil
i have a 96 prelude, and i just recently did a h22a swap and i used my h23a1 wiring harness, i wanna use a internal coil, but i dont know how to wire it into my external harness, any help??
Yeah they tend to overheat easily, just find a good place to mount your external and just keep using it. Mine is laying on its side under the intake pipe, it's mounted to the thermostat housing.

You can always go to your local auto parts store and buy another...you can't on an internal.
I can see the lure of using a part you already have, but the pain later down the line doesn't make sense to me.
You can actually use a 5th gen bracket to mount the coil (I think this is what billy did to a swap). I just laid mine next to the intake and zip tied it.

yea makes sense but im prolly jus bout to get the MSD ss coil and a 0.8 ohm resistor and run that plus it is lik 40 bucks cheaper than an oem coil... i can do that right?
hey while im on this thread what all wires go to the vtec solenoid i know the green one wid yellow stripe but aint there suppose to b a ground and stuff, jus wondering???my car is prewired for it... but thats the only one i c....any help???
When you got the H22a did it come with a wiring harness, if so then I can help you from there. The spool valve wire (grn/yel) is 1 of the 2 plugs you need.

No, the wires needed for the oil pressure switch WILL NOT be on your stock harness. You're going to have to take the plug from the RHD harness and pin the light blue wire into your harness and ground the black wire
