How to wire OEM fogs to turn on with parking lights

Hello,

I know a couple of people (Prelude2005) wanted to know how to do this. I got bored and did it just now. It is VERY simple.

1) Locate the relay for the fogs, it will have five wires comming from it.

2) Find the spade connector with two Red/Yellow wires comming out of it. This is the power feed that goes hot when the headlights come on and powers the coil in the relay. Unplug this connector from the relay.

3) Pick up a feed from the kick panel fusebox that goes hot with the parking lights. This is terminal #2 on mine. Run the feed to the emply terminal on the relay that used to have the two Red/Yel wires.

That is it. The fogs should now come on (given that the switch is on) when the parking lights are turned on. This is on my '95 Si. I am not sure about the older ludes with the switch in the tweeter, it might be different.

If you want them to come on without any lights on just run a constant power feed to the relay terminal instead.

HTH,

What do you mean by independently? When the parking lights are off the fogs will shut off as well but when the parking lights are turned on and the fog switch is pressed in the fogs will come on with the parking lights but no headlights. When you turn the headights on everything stays the same but the heads come on. If you want it COMPLETELY independent just hook the constant feed up. This means that the lights will stay on all the time though with the switch depressed (dead battery).

Yeah, the switch will still control the lights. If it is off it won't matter how they are wired, they will still be off.
