How To Use JDM Distributor

hi guys. just wanted to kno if anyone knows how to use a jdm distributor with a usdm p13. i hav a 92 si with a jdm h22a swap. everything was fine for a few months then noticed a small oil leak dripping from the bottom of my h23 distributor. so i opened it up n some oil came out of it.
my question is can i fix it? or is there anyway i can use the jdm distributor that came wit the jdm h22?
i found this website, but dont kno if its true or not? loox too easy to be true IMO..
they said just jump a fuse 2 the yellow n yellow/black on the external coil harness n wire plugs on jdm dizzy like normal n done. here is the like:

The o-ring is all you need, letting it leak for too long can cause oil to get into the distributor and ruin it as there is no seal your asking about.

OK. i fugured out how to rewire jdm dizzy to work with a usdm p13 ecu that was prewired from an h23 prelude. really its just removing the internal coil and running a wire that is missing from the jdm dizzy. the upper dizzy is the jdm and the lower is from my h23 dizzy.

How To Use JDM Distributor-2011-01-17-14.56.47.jpg

what i did was remove the green wire from the h23 dizzy which i just yanked out from the connector and added it to the jdm dizzy. the jdm dizzy had a blank spot in the connector. just use a bobby pin and push out the rubber blankoff.

now i removed the internal coil from the jdm dizzy and u r left with black/yellow wires that has a ring crimped to it. i just Etaped the crap out of it to inuslate it.

now just cut a knotch out of the boot that holds the wires comin in the housing and run the green wire through. i also put some 5min epoxy to seal it better.(dont hav a pic of the epoxy)

just use the cap n rotor from other dizzy(usdm dizzy). N ur done
srry 4 some blurry pix. my fone cam sux. i tested it n works. i also noticed a little more power. probably has less resistance from the oil that was in the old one. now i kno im using my ngk iridium plugs.
took me about 20m to complete this project.
eddit: forgot to add.. NO MORE OIL LEAK

Why did you go through all this that was so unnecessary?

All you needed was the $2 o-ring and bam, oil leak fixed. Now your using a distributor with an old o-ring on it, yeah it may not leak now but it will very soon just like all the seals on my low mileage jdm motor did because it had been sitting in a warehouse since the mid 90's.

sry for late response. been doin a lot of OT at work. i bought 6 of the orings from the dealer. i replaced the 1st time started dripping oil once the engine warmed from bottom of dizzy. so i opened dizzy about a quarter cup of oil spilled out of dizzy. cleaned it. replaced new o ring and liquid gasket dizzy to head. seemed to be ok till end of day when i checked afterwork. was dripping oil again frm bottom of dizzy. opened dizzy up more oil spilled out of inside of dizzy. then i figured it has to be internal leak. so i used jdm dizzy wit new oring. hasnt leaked yet. also checked inside dizzy 4 ish and giggles. bone dry. original dizzy has to hav an internal leak. i heard they hav an internal shaft seal that no one carries. as far as i kno my oil leak from dizzy is fixed. thanx for commenting

Jumping the connector with a blade fuse is the easiest solution. I've been driving with it like this for 3 years.

Thanks for your write up, this is exactly what i needed, I wanted to keep the external coil, with an F20B in my 92 SI 4WS, and i put on a Fidanza flywheel with Ram powergrip, so im not sure i have the timing marks for ignition, eventuly i'll get a timing light i can set the degrees and use the TDC mark.

Yes there is a seal, this is a D series dizzy, but heres your example, i have gotten one before, but i had to let the parts store measure it and cross reference numbers ect, but had it in 48 hours.

heres a picture of your culprit
