If it's got the original motor, it does. Curious, do you know what dohc stands for?

All SI and VTEC Preludes from 1988 on in the US have a DOHC engine.
I do remember a guy who lived in the middle east who came on line once and complained about how crappy Honda was for selling a SOHC 5th gen SI lude in his country.He even posted pictures of his car to show what he was talking about. I sure hope you don't live there!

That is the difference. One has vtec, the other doesn't.

Si = H23A1
160hp/156ft-lbs.

VTEC = H22A1
190hp/158ft-lbs.

These are USDM figures.

lol actually i think the guy just got ripped off, previous owner prob pulled the h22 swap, dropped in a single cam and sold the car. no 5th gen comes with a sohc

Oh and a good way to paint the valve cover is to get a super fine grit sand paper, im not sure what size would be best but there are threads on how to do this. lightly sand, pick up a color you like of high temp engine paint (i personaly like the greyish green) and paint it.

You can put the valve cover in the oven in like 300 or something to bake the paint on so it lasts longer.

In markets other than North America, the 5th Gen was available with an SOHC F-Series engine.
