How to remove HVAC controls?

Got the bottom of the bezel popped out but it seems like it's attached to the vents both with clips and controls... how do you remove it properly?

hint, unscrew the cable from the hvac control before you unbolt it. Make sure you get it screwed back in properly, or else the cable will move and you will not be able to get it to fully go to heat or cool. I had to re-do it a few times and ended up using superglue (not advised)

I know from experience...

If you pull the thing out before you undo the cable and then put it back on before you bolt the thing back in, make sure the cable isn't twisted

Ugh... haven't gotten it out yet and I already broke the tabs on the vents. Off to the bone yard for spare parts!
