i dunno for sure, i am too lazy to go get the manual. look in your helms

I think my 93 holds 5.1quarts, so put 4 in, check it, then fill the rest of the way.

That is too much, but I think you'll be alright. Always put in 5-5.1 quarts, don't go by anymore web sites. Helms specified 5.1 quarts.

when I worked at the dealership, after changing the filter and adding new oil to the engine, 5.3 quarts would be perfect.....

Yeah, the 6 quarts I put in puts the oil line about a quarter inch above the line... is that too much? it seems to be running fine, and I know the engine will burn it down to normal soon anyway.

thats too much oil.....too much causes the moving parts to slow down alittle bit cuz it has to travel through more oil ie. crankshaft

yeah just unscrew that bolt and let some drain out and then check your oil again and if you let too much out...just add some of that oil in to make up the difference...
