how much for distributor cap and rotor?

hey guys....the ol' h22 is starting to bog pretty badly consistently from 2-4k rpms so im thinking its the distributor cap and rotor that need replaced. its a jdm h22 so its internal coil....is switching it over to external coil as easy as getting just a p13 replacement cap and rotor?...or do i need the WHOLE distributor? if i want to just keep it internal coil, which one do i order? i have a friend at honda so i get the parts for decently cheap. thanks guys.

and also....is the cap and rotor the same for the internal coil one? cause the cap and rotor are just listed as 92-01 prelude. will those two pieces fit the internal coil distributor as well?

are these two parts easy to install?

lol, lots O questions!! Just pick up a cap and rotor for a 91-92 Honda Accord, it will fit perfectly and work with your internal coil distributor.
I've seen conversion kits for the internal coils on civics from aftermarket companies and I'm pretty certain you could use one of those no problem if you wanted to get an aftermarket ignition.
I didn't have to convert mine because my dizzy was blown up and I just ended up buying a north american distributor.

ok...well i have an msd sittin in my fender well all ready to go because i had it on my h23, but its not hooked up right now, thats why im trying to find some way to hook up an external coil to this bad boy....i need the gas mileage! my spoon sports ecu kills my gas mileage!

so my options are...

#1 - an older accord distributor cap and rotorwill fit right on, no mods necessary
#2 - buy a complete usdm h22/h23 distributor along with an external msd blaster coil and i would be able to use my msd ignition

any other options?

umm I guess you could run the + and - wires from the internal coil to run the external coil, get a USDM h22/23 cap and rotor as well as your aftermarket coil..

or

I think you can get an external coil conversion kit for a civic or Accords ( 91-92 again, likely the same kit if one is made).
BTW I don't think that running a bigger badder ignition is going to gain you any fuel mileage back, it doesn't hurt it but I can't see any gain in mileage unless something has gone bad. have you changed plugs yet? I'd try that first if it isn't running well.

Is your car giving you the check engine light?

no check engine light and yes i just replaced the plugs

i think i might just try replacing the cap/rotor first and see if that helps anything.

so order a 91 accord dist cap and rotor??

whats the number on the distributor for a usdm h22?

the number on the jdm distributor is TD60

if any of you could check for me, that would be really cool...the number is right on top below where the plug wires cross over the distributor....thanks guys

yea, youre correct

kevie88....one question though. i was looking around online for prices and noticed that on manhonda.com they list the distributor cap as being for all accord from 86-00, but then they list all the rotors being different for different years? exactly which year accord rotor will fit and are you positive that the cap will fit? thanks man...i really appreciate it!
