How to: Make your own 94-96 USDM fog light switch!

Courtesy of wstef from Honda-Tech, here is a how-to make your own fog light switch from a hazard switch!

Edit: He made some corrections, so I'll post them on here

1. Disassemble switch from the rear (so plug) side and extract the printed board.
2. Desolder all 3 diodes - no more necessary.
3. Make a short in place of one diode as shown

4. The second connection (so adding a solder to short two lines of rinted circuit) is ONLY if the white plug for switch has 3 wires (generally european car). In euro car there is no DIMMER thing shown in diagram - the bulb is just grounded - there is an internal connection in european version of the switch. If there are 4 wires in your car, skip this step.

5. It may be necessary to change position of pins in plug to match the circuit in switch - take off the blocking tab from plug, use a needle to unlock the pin. There are hatches that hold every pin in its place. Put the pins to be OK with this diagram. It is very easy when you have the printed board extracted:

6. For the symbol, just make an excursion to junkyard. I found the plate from another car that was a bit bigger, it had to be fileed to fit the hole in honda switch, after triangle symbol plate was pushed out from inside of switch.

Hope that helps, and if you have any questions, feel free to PM him on HT.

good idea...but i always thought the fog light switch was worthless...ie we all use our fogs 100% of the times when the lights are on...so whats ever been the point of turning them off with a switch...i shorted out the switch wire on my car...so my fogs only turn on when i turn my low beams on...which is at night time...and i got my daytime running lights for daytime lighting...and besides...when you have a hazard button like mine...why would u want to loose it

The fog light switch has been discontinued for some time now so it's either finding an used one, using a JDM switch, modifying the hazard button or using a regular aftermarket one.

94-96 Three wire switch hook-up

Here is how I got my Hazard/Fog switch to work. Follow the instructions above, the place where you put the wire in place of the diode I will call pin one. Open up your harness by lifting a little hinged cover by where the wire enters the harness. Push a thick needle in the top hole (at the end where you see 2 small holes. One for the pin to enter the other to release the wire) and work it around untill it pushes the wire out of the harness. Do this too all three wires. Put the wires back in the harness in this order; Pin one.....Red/Yellow --- Pin three.....Orange------ Pin six....Red/Green. After the wires are seated back in the harness you must stick the needle in the other hole (where the pin enters) untill it pushes down into the connector. This spreads the opening back apart, if you do not do this the pins will not push onto the harness. Mine works great! Even the bulb in the switch. Good luck

Can the hazard switch fit or be fitted for the stock position for the foglight switch?

I can only verify that it will perfectly fit in the stock location on a 94-96.

yeah, that's what i was wonder. the 92/93 hazard switch isn't anything like the 94+. the stock foglight location for it is in the tweeter cover. i've got a jdm switch, but i'm in the process of converting my interior to a black 94+.
