How to make a Starter Kill switch?

Hi everyone, I am new to the online prelude scene but have some decent experience working on them.

I am after making a Killswitch, I dont want to mess with the ignition yellow wire(is it the yellow wire?) since if something happens to my relay then the car will shut down in the middle of the road.

So I think I should take the starter motor route ? I am after something Homemade with a toggle switch a relay and some wire.. If anyone could give me some step by steps and a diagram or the color of the wire and stuff I have to do...

this question has probably been asked few times but Searching didnt answer what I was looking for. Can any one please help me out? I own a 4th gen if it helps.

you can make one with the gas pump... if is manual you can make another with the clutch switch

where to put them... that will be ur choice

colors... will have to look at the helms...
-clutch you can look after removing the steering wheel bottom cover, i think is the yellow switch... i think is a blk/grn but not 100% sure
--it is better "explained" (at least the wiring) in the one that is divided by parts i think is 1993
--it can be make with no relay... you need to press it only when starting (push=contact/release=no contact)

-fuel pump... use a tester... it will be 12v for about 6 sec when you turn the ignition (dont start the car) and then goes to 0v... i think is a yel/gen but not 100% sure
--you will need constant power... i have a push & "stay" (makes contacts if pushed and no contact if is pushed again)

Okay, Thanks el_baby, I want to do the one near the starter not the fuel pump..

So should I just splice off the yellow wire near the starter of the engine and set a rocker switch in between or do I splice the wire near the engine bay firewall?

I too am sure its the yellow wire (read somewhere dont remember) but just need a few pics .

some pictures of the wire / or location so I can cut it and place a switch in between ? anyone?

if you want to kill the ignition it will be the blk/yel
the yellow i believe is the ignition 2.. for a/c most

if you want to make a good install of the relay I would recommend you to remove the fusebox and make the splice in there... and try to use solder the wires

i would use 2 relays because most are rated 40A max/30A constant and maybe for "backup" in case of one of the relays fails

because of the limited space you may want to run the relays a bit far from there where you could replace the relays, but a place where you could hide them...

to hide them you could put them with the bunch of wires to the right of the fusebox..in the upper part you will find a plastic with some space (not the white behind the steering wheel)
