Umm.. if you really take your time, and work carefully, 2 hours should be MORE than enough... Make sure you look it up on a reliable source to find the steps involved.. Become familiar with what you're working on.
Remember to replace the pilot bearing, and not to put strain on the Pressure Plate's fingers.

2 hours for a clutch job? Only if you have done it a several times and don't run into any snags.

Might be able to get away with 6 hours if you do it on your own and don't run into any issues (not missing any tools, nothing else breaks, etc.). Getting the transmission back on can be a major pain in the ass

2 hours???? No way! It would be at least 5-6 hours with minor problems. It looks much faster on paper. Don't expect it to go smooth.

Good luck!

P.S. - If you are going to do it by yourself make sure you have someone around you to give you a hand, the tranny is a little tricky to put back on.

yeah I was about to say 2 hours?
only if your chuck norris. lol.

yeah I had my neighbor do mine, it took him around 5 hours..

he had to pull off the axels and such to get to it.. he used jack stands and did it on the ground..
if you have a lift, it might take 3.5-4.5 hours depending on how good you are.

and like they said up top. GET A RELIABLE RESOURCE!
ha. you don't want to be taking out your back seats for a clutch job.

DUde I guess I might just work fast on them.. I had to do several of them this year and never spent more than 2 hours.. 3 or 4 when drastic snags happened, but I also have access to a very stocked shop. I wasnt' thinking of people without a shop accessable to them.. sorry guys.

^I still think that's crazy, 2 hours??? Even seasoned mechanics who work on preludes would take more than 2 hours.

You would have to have everything layed out and ready to do it with ample help.

It took me all of 2 days working on it on/off and waiting for parts. Needed cotter pin here, bushing there...

You just find more things to replace whenever you're under.

Like I've said.. A VERY stocked shop, lots of room to work, and severely ogranized..
I'm not making things up, I just have a great opportunity that helps streamline work.. I'm sure if I were at my house, in my own garage, with limited tools, it'd take me more than double that time.
I always get everything I might need in order before starting so it's easy, but again, I contribute the time savings to the incredible garage opportunity.

I can see how you can do it in 2 hours, but too most people that take their time and has done a few trannies, should take about 4-6 hours.

In the shop, we have the tall lifts, plus hydraulic tranny jacks and lots of really nice tools.. I'm really blessed to have such a nice place to work, I'll miss it when I'm done with this degree.
any updates on the clutch job yet?
Hope it came out well!

That is the flywheel that I am running, so far 20k miles no problems, I am very happy with it. That is on an H22a1.

Just out of curiosity do you have timing marks on the fidenza?

it;s weird, the fidanza only has 1 mark, not the usual two for timing and ignition timing.
