How Long does it take to do a clutch on 92 prelude
Hey guys what's up. My clutch just went recently and i was just wondering for people who have done clutch swaps. How long does it take to do a clutch at a shop or personal expierence?
Umm.. if you really take your time, and work carefully, 2 hours should be MORE than enough... Make sure you look it up on a reliable source to find the steps involved.. Become familiar with what you're working on.
Remember to replace the pilot bearing, and not to put strain on the Pressure Plate's fingers.
2 hours for a clutch job? Only if you have done it a several times and don't run into any snags.
Might be able to get away with 6 hours if you do it on your own and don't run into any issues (not missing any tools, nothing else breaks, etc.). Getting the transmission back on can be a major pain in the ass
yeah I was about to say 2 hours?
only if your chuck norris. lol.
yeah I had my neighbor do mine, it took him around 5 hours..
he had to pull off the axels and such to get to it.. he used jack stands and did it on the ground..
if you have a lift, it might take 3.5-4.5 hours depending on how good you are.
and like they said up top. GET A RELIABLE RESOURCE!
ha. you don't want to be taking out your back seats for a clutch job.
DUde I guess I might just work fast on them.. I had to do several of them this year and never spent more than 2 hours.. 3 or 4 when drastic snags happened, but I also have access to a very stocked shop. I wasnt' thinking of people without a shop accessable to them.. sorry guys.
yea 2 hours is nearly impossible on a lude with power steering and cruise control. and especially atts which i dont have but still saying i was prob thinkin around 5-6 hours shop told me but me and a few friends are gonna do it and save 600 dollars
Like I've said.. A VERY stocked shop, lots of room to work, and severely ogranized..
I'm not making things up, I just have a great opportunity that helps streamline work.. I'm sure if I were at my house, in my own garage, with limited tools, it'd take me more than double that time.
I always get everything I might need in order before starting so it's easy, but again, I contribute the time savings to the incredible garage opportunity.

I can see how you can do it in 2 hours, but too most people that take their time and has done a few trannies, should take about 4-6 hours.

doing it on the ground, i can see about 4-6 hours - 4 if ur really good, when i do them at work its about 4 hours on a hoist, if ur really good 2 hours is possible, my friend does them in about that time
In the shop, we have the tall lifts, plus hydraulic tranny jacks and lots of really nice tools.. I'm really blessed to have such a nice place to work, I'll miss it when I'm done with this degree.

That is the flywheel that I am running, so far 20k miles no problems, I am very happy with it. That is on an H22a1.
Just out of curiosity do you have timing marks on the fidenza?
