^ There should be a hole in the firewall that all the wiring runs through

i remember tapping into the tach from behind the cluster....it was a blue wire with silver stripes, if i recall correctly...but this was for a shift light only, not a tachometer....

There is a rubber gromit on the passenger side of the firewall engine bay. If you unbolt the fuse box and move it aside, you will find it right under that. Made my work much easier once I found that puppy!

I think i read in the instructions that you have to put the Type R sticker on before you install the tach or it wont give you the full power boost.

Sorry sorry.....its late, i was feeling cynical.

theres nothing wrong with installing a monster tach...esp since its actually a functional mod....im considering running a defi tachometer simply because my momo steering wheel blocks the instrument panel....all i need to do is add the VSD HUD display and i got my MPH reading on my windshield too...problem solved!

err... yea i guess??? Its like people who have bone stock n/a cars that have a-pillar w/ a/f and volt gauges to monitor their highly non modified motor. Its functional and it does something, but is it really necessary? There are a ton of different companies that make tachs that are smaller and functional as well. Not trying to flame, I just it was rather funny to see that people are still installing the HUGE 5" monster tachs. Maybe Fast and Furious is still a popular inspiration for some people? But hey, its your car, do what ever you want to it. Please do not let my comments stop you from doing what makes you happy.

they wont ...the defi tacho is only 115mm, or 4.5 inches in diameter...i am going with defi's cuz i can jus add the other gauges to the Control unit as i become more modded and need them...dont forget that a tacho also adds a shift light, so that in itself is functional....
