how to fix Heater Control Panel unit

I have a 92 prelude and the heater control panel unit does not working
all the lights are not work, A/C not kicking in when press the a/c button and unable to change mode. I did connect the plug from the back of the unit and verified pin 8 have power and pin 13 is grounded.
is there a way to fix this Heater control panel instead of buy a new one for $500?

thanks for all your help...

Climate Control Fix

I had mine fixed for $50 plus S&H since my soldering skills leave something to be desired (see my last post in thread)

BTW Fishbate, in that last thread I saw you asking about the cable hooking to the climate control.. the easiest method is to unhook it from the blower motor area under the passenger side of the dash rather than unhooking it from the actual climate control.. and if you already DID unhook it from the climate control, go ahead and unhook the other end from the blower motor area, and reattach one side to the cllimate control, reinstall the unit, screw everything back together, and THEN reconnect the other end to the blower motor area. voila!

just take the unit out. get a soldering iron from walmart for <$10

re solder every one of those little drops of solder back at the plastic connection for the wiring harness. be careful none of them touch each other....that would not be good (or desirable). My A/C works, but my lights work about 1/2 the time.

btw: I did mine back in 03 and it still works

amazing what one can find on-line
7yrs this problem bugged me.
Likely it would have become someones' issue when I sold my 92 but because a sorry ^$%$#^@#Y& *%&^%^ decided he needed my $29 cassette deck, I'm having to replace a few dash parts.

Thanks for the write up

I found that connector you were looking for

Cindy, is this the thing you were looking for?
Wholesale Computer Accessories, Free Shipping, Wholesaler Distributor
It's on the list of computer accessories and parts. They have the DVI video thing to convert that jap monitor to work with your other computer. Just about any other kind of wire adaptor, usb connectors, monitor extension wires, ps2 extention wires, and all kinds of female and male swap connectors and things that I think would help your shop. If that above link don't work then goto FREE Shipping Of Wholesale Items China Direct Wholesaler Distributor and click on computer accessories. Let me know if that is what you need and give me your email address again.
