Gotta pull the center console and the radio. There are two or three screws on the bottom of the unit that will be revealed when you pull the radio mount out. Then it should just slide out. Watch for the airmix cable, you need to remove it from the attachment point under the passenger side dash. good luck

this is one area of the helms that really wasn't done very well. the air mix cable goes from the control unit down to the heater box below the dash, on the passenger side foot area. the cable housing snaps into a clip and has a ring connector on the end, just get the housing out of the clip and then pull it off. if you lay on your back on the pass. side floor you will see it, use a flashlight if you need to. once you have the cable loose, there's the 2 harnesses connected to the control unit and then 3 screws i think. one of the screws is towards the rear of the control unit and is kind of hard to find, just use a flashlight and look around for it.

Definately do that!

I haven't found any good documentation on removeing this piece either and I have loose wires (my lights are out and the vents don't change when I press on the buttons always)
