How do I take off those vent things next to the headlights? 4th gen

Sup peeps. I'm gonna go ahead and take the little vent things next to the headlights off and spray paint them black so they match the car.

Does anyone know how to take them off? If so please give me a step by step procedure how. Thanks a lot.

I just took mine off an hour ago to prep for painting tomorrow.

1) Open Hood.

2) Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew "top" (there's only one) screw holding the "nostril" to the car.

3) Using an 8mm "deep socket", remove the four nuts holding the "nostril" in place to the frame of the car. The nut hidden behind, where you removed the intial screw, is difficult to get to. Gently bend the "nostril" back towards you a little bit and slip the socket over the nut.

Repeat.

Yup I did the exact same thing, didn't take long AT ALL...the nut holders were rusted and crappy so i just broke em off and put new ones on...lol...but yah, it's a quick easy job, and painting them the color of ur car looks good IMO of course.

What kind of paint are you guys using? How are you painting them? Do you have to sand them and prime em' or anything?

I'm taking mine to the body shop where I'm getting my side skirts and front lip done.

If you wanted to do it yourself, I would definitely rough them up a bit with some sandpaper and then put a good bonding prime coat on them (priming promtes the adhesion of the topcoat). Finish them off with an automotive spray.
