very simple task, there are 2 ac holes connected to the ac compressor, aside that u wil see 2 knob looking thing(light blue color i think) twist it apart n use something thin n strong (screwdriver) to poke it in, while u do that freon will blast out like krazy. make sure u get like a tower or something cause it'll spray everywhere. keep doin it untill u dont see any more freon left , thats when u kno when ur done
R134a is a skin irratant, and will cause temp. blindness if you get it in your eyes. It will also give you a major lung infection if you inhale any of it. Trust me, ive seen it firsthand.
Take it too a shop and they will "recycle" the refridgerant. They hook a machine to you AC system and suck out all the freon and lube oil. Much safer.
it doesnt matter if its r134a or r12...both are illegal to let into the air....and yes if u do get a decent amount on you, you could hav som short side effects....but if u do it where nobody can c you, u should b fine....but u are contributiong to a whole in the ozone layer....just incase u r a treehugger or whateva
i don't think there's a way around it. i've looked and looked for any possible way to do the swap without having to remove the blower and evaporator and there's just no way.... which reminds me... i gotta get around to installing it sometime soon
prob not cheap......less than $100 i would assume, it's only air right? I need to get mine recharged, i am wondering the same thing. Just don't take it to the "honda" dealer!

Hardly. If your car is R134a equipped (later model years), you can buy the refill kits at auto stores for fairly cheap. However, if your car is equipped with R12, you are going to pay a lot more. R12 cannot be bought or sold by unlicensed people, and is pretty strictly regulated. In any case, assuming Freon is "just air" is pretty far off. Freon is pretty toxic, hence the switch to CFC-free refridgerants.
i have an extra blower and a/c parts, so im going to build my unit outside of the car just to make sure everything will work fine without wasting a whole day wiring stuff up in my car.
