How can i widen my cars wheelbase ?

I want to put fender flares , and the stock wheel base is in too far, i know wheel spacers help for 2".

How many 2" wheel spacers can you put before hacking the steering's rigidity and stopping power.

umm i think you mean track. its pretty hard to increase your wheelbase unless you are moving the whole suspension forward or rear suspension rearward.

now you can widen your track by adding spacers, wider rims, etc.

i wouldn't use spacers that are extremely large either. 2" is already pretty far.

spacers seem to be used for show only just to appear wide, but what if you wanted widetrack suspension

like aftermarket control arms or cusomize the steering knuckle ?

maybe all they came up with was spacers ?

go with heavy negative (right?) offset wheels rather than spacers. I'd say don't spend a dime on mods like this, but that's just me.

what are heavy negative offset wheels ? The rim center is deeper ?

Do you have a link or a picture of what they look like ?

yes. and I don't feel like looking up a picture. It'll take you a few minutes to search for one online.

spacers are not for show only. you can buy rims that normally wouldn't fit correctly or clear your calipers. sometimes spacers can help this.

if you say they're for show only, whats with the fender flares? on a prelude, i would be hard pressed to think you need it. there are race preludes with 15x10 rims that will clear and will give you more than enough rubber to the floor.
