Rotors and brakes seem to be fine.

This noise is not consistant and just started 2 days ago. Seems to happen more once car is warmed up. When coming to a stop, it grinds real bad, almost sounds like brake pads are worn completely, but they aren't. This also doesn't happen every time i stop , only sometimes. When it does happen, it will also grind a bit while taking off but only till about 3-5 mph, then it will go away. It doesn't sound worse under heavy braking or heavy driving. When it happens, its loud, sounds real awful, but goes away quickly, and the sound doesn't sound exactly the same each time.


I haven't inspected to see if something caught in between the pads and rotors, but with the sound being inconsistant, i would think there is nothing there. Just wondering where i should look first. Thanks.

Try jacking up the car and then spining the wheel to see if you can see what's causing the noise. This way you can acutally hear it and see it rather then only when driving. Maybe it's a seized caliper.
