Hood Rod - Honda Prelude Forum

Hey guys,

I just bought a honda preulde 1992, and when I got it the hood rod was dettached from the car, so it has just been laying in my trunk. I would like to know what clip or the name of it that I need to attach it to the chasis of my car.
I really need it because sometimes when I'm doing work or looking under the hood I could use my two hands rather than have one of them holding the hood up.

I was lookin online at

US Auto Parts - Catalogs - Oes Genuine W0133-1639778 - OES Genuine

and was wondering if that is the correct part.

Just letting you know mine fell off the car awhile ago. I ordered that part and never managed to get both the clip and rod to stay in there. It would work a few times and then give up. I think cause the metal holding everything around the hole was bent a little.

Just fyi. I ordered the clip along with some other parts, I wouldn't order it just alone.

You could always use gas shocks to hold the hood open. May have to drill a few holes, but it would be well worth it.

get dampers
were trying to get a group buy on pp.com
i want some baaaad becasue my rod doenst have a clip to hold it on and just falls out
but i would get dampers

im still working with a company that does the dampers.. im just waiting for an e-mail back from them with a set up time so we can instal them is all

You can guy Teins or NRG's

I think the Teins fit but the hood sticks out a bit. If you search, there are some 4g's with them installed on here.
