Hood Lock Install

I got a cf hood recently, and some hood locks to go with it (Mr. Gasket).

Has anyone installed hood locks (or pins) themself? I'd rather do it myself than pay a shop to do it.

If anyone has done this, please PM or post with info! A write up would be ideal!

They will not work if you mount them in the front of the hood for the 4th gen. Our hood's are not completely flat like domestics. I tried on my car, I just have the latch on but not the part that secures the latch where you would have to mount onto the frame of the car. It's about a 45 degree angle from the hood latch and the pin that secures the latch. Best bet it to weld the pin into place.

Notice the angle.

Yeah, you need to find a way to angle the threaded rod that mounts to the radiator support, either by welding them on (JB Weld might work) or by making some angled spacers.

Tried jb weld myself - it's a no go. The jbweld would just end up cracking for me over a month or 2. It's going to be a project whoever decides to fit them on our car=]

Damn...looks like this is going to be an incredible PITA to do myself.

Welding seems like an expensive option. Would an angled spacer have to be custom fabricated? If so, then it would most likely be equally expensive.
