hood lifted because of turbo?

I just saw a prelude for sale by my house, it says "95 turbo prelude 5spd." and from the looks of it everythings cool although the car is VERY low, i had a look at the muffler and its being held up by some hook very low to the ground. comments on that would be nice. Anyways, my real question is that the hood is lifted where it meets the windshield. i thought it was messed up at first, then i realized it had a metal thing on each side of the hood elevating it. my first thoughts were that it's probably from the turbo which i know nothing about. What i do know is i don't like the way it's elevated it looks broken, any knowledge on that, or anything i can do to change that?

they are hood dampers. like hydraulic hinges for the hood. they cause the hood to lift up. Good luck.

what are they there for? i don't like the way they look from a distance it looked like the car was in an accident at one point and caused the hood to lift. it would be one thing if the hood looked normal when closed but it's elevated on the corners by the window.

The answer you got is completely wrong sorry to say. I have hood dampeners and they do NOT do that.

What the OP is reffering to is called "raking" the hood. It is to vent heat out when driving by lifting the back of it up. This is done with spacers put between the hinge and the hood itself. Alot of the time people use washers and build it up to the height they want.

It is rather popular down here in AZ.

This pic I hope works.

BTW, Eric Schultz in CA is a known scammer. He did it to me, he can do it to you. Just a heads up. Know as "backinblue92" here on PO.com
