is it easy to install. does it actually increase HP or just cool the air off. i am prolly going to buy it but does it cause a CEL because i dont need that. i already have a brake lamp light and sometimes the damn abs light comes on too.
wouldnt it be better to not cut the hole because that shuts off the egr and creats even colder intake temp. And this would not cause a CEL on obd1 cars right?
I don't see how it would throw a CEL on an OBDI car. I have my EGR blocked with sheet metal, and it doesn't throw a CEL. The EGR can only tell if it is plugged in, and getting vacuum, not if it is actually flowing air, thus why you can block it and not get a CEL. The gasket does the same thing, just a different way....so why would it throw a CEL? It shouldn't....
It's pretty difficult to install. You have to take off your IM (not that bad, but it's a PITA) and then the hardest part is scraping the old gasket off. those bolts are a bish also.
