This question is to anybody who has purchased an engine or complete swap from www.hondamotorsonline.com . I was wondering what your experience has been with this company, has anybody received a piece of junk motor that either wouldn't start, was missing or had broken parts, or broke down shortly after installation? This company seems to have good prices, but their warranty isn't very reassuring, they only gaurantee the motor to start up, nothing more, and there is a 35 % restocking fee on any "accepted" returns. I will pay more somewhere else for a better warranty if anybody tells me that this company sold them a piece of junk motor.
I bought a long block JDM H22A from Steve at hondamotorsonline. I had no trouble with any part of the transaction or the motor. I have put about 5,000 miles on it so far and nothing has gone wrong. When my shop recieved the motor I came down so we could pop the valve cover and check it out. It was very clean! If you do buy from him, send you'r money certified mail and track so you know when he recieves he money. I just do not trust regular mail service with that much money. Anyway, I would say go for it!
i bought my jdm h22 from steve also. very good condition and runs very strong (check sig). i actually drove out to cali from arizona to get the motor so i could see it before i bought it. he had 3 there for me to choose from. good guy but **** does happen sometimes like broken stuff in transport so dont get all pissy if something might happen to arrive broken, just give him a call and he'll help you out.
about the warranty.....nobody in their right mind would warranty a motor after it has been started up because they know that people are going to be racing them. his no sensors broken guarantee is good enough for me!
Got my engine from there, its a jdm h22 with lsd
before installation i decided to take everything apart and do an overhaul, replace all seals, gaskets, etc. guess what i found when i looked at one of the mainjournal bearings:
u cant really tell by the picture but those are REALLY deep scratches on the bearing, like a small pebble got in there and did that.
no problems with the transaction or anything, but make sure u ask him for all the details on the engine ur buying before u commit. like compression test results, year, mileage etc.. i think all thier engines are from front clips so he shouldnt have any problems giving u any info on mileage and such

I would assume that all the engines are less than 30,000 miles as the site says they are, but it would be good to get compression test results. Somebody would have really had to abuse the engine to have bad compression after so few miles. Is the engine they show for $1100 a jdm? I notice that they say they sale jdm and usdm but i don't see where it tells what you are looking at in the pictures. Does anybody know anything about the "quality control issues" with this company that somebody was mentioning in another post?

Are the jdm and usdm motors the same price? If so, why would anybody want to get the usdm motor with 190hp when the jdm has 200hp? Will my H23 alternator, power steering pump, and AC compressor bolt up to the H22 engines just the same?
yup yup, Almost everything bolts up to the h22, the only thing im am aware dosnt fit is the intake manifold, and the exhaust manifold, everything else fits just fine, i mean everything you mentiond.
