On the way home, I hit a straight-away stretch of road and decided to open my Lude up a bit, let me know if this is normal...
I hit 128 mph at 6400 rpms and hit it quickly. My tac says that I redline at 6500 so I was leary of pushing it any more, the thing that impressed me the most was that I still had about half pedal left and was holding my rpms very close to redline. I dont know if my engine was beefed up a bit before I bought it or what, but at 128 I still had quite a bit of pull, it wasnt barely 128, it was 128 with ease.
I have a H23A 5 sp, I am thinking that someone started to mod it because the interior is in perfect shape as though it has just been done, and the body is almost perfect as well, but there is a place in the back where if you look really close you can see some body repairs. And it sits pretty low, even for a Lude. But the engine looks stock, I cant see any aftermarket products on it.
I guess that I need to take some pick and post them here. If this is normal, then all I can say is WoW!!, I didnt realize that ludes were this fast. It took me about 3 months of everyday looking and bugging 6 different dealers to find one. I am in love now, I was just infatuated before.

Well, I got 128 and was afraid to go any faster due to the rpms, as far as hitting a gear limit, I didnt. I was still climbing steady when I hit 6400 rpms and shut it down after about 10 seconds of holding it there. I could have pushed it but didnt want to screw something up.

Smart move, but yea, as a former h23 owner, they are that fast. I got to about 135ish when the fuel cut out.
I can hit the 113mph limiter is my JDM VTEC no sweat
I do 95 on the highway. I cant imagine 105 being a rush :P
I've done "130" in my 92si, but factoring in my 17" rims, meaning the speedometer's quite a bit off at that speed, I'd say I did about 120-125.. And i only stopped there cause I was behind a GSR who was maxed
Then my friends 95 VTEC flies past all of us, when I couldnt even see his headlights a second earlier..ugh.
i was racing a civic si one night on the mass.pike going home...he came up next to me and we went. i didn't even bother dropping to 4th...just stepped on it in 5th and i hit (what my speedo said was) 130. after a little bit, he wasn't going anywhere, so i shut it down and let her wind down. again, with the rims etc factored in, it wasn't exactly 130, but damn it was fast...and yes i still had some go left (but i don't know how much more to the limiter). oh and yeah, it is kinda scary how the car seems more stable at 120+...it's almost like it prefers to go that fast...and i don't even have the super-duper-cleared-for-takeoff wing!!
I don't think the 4G's are gear limited, unless the speedometers are way off at the supposed top speed of 140. I've gone 140 in my car plenty of times ... THAT's a RUSH. 140 on the 101 or 118 in SF Valley is crazy, b/c the overpasses literally become a blur, and you pass people as if they were going in reverse. I agree with whoever said that it seems more stable at 140 than at 90. It helps when you have a lot of suspension work, too.

'92 and '93 Si's do not have any type of governor on them, and the '94-'96 ludes do, around 120 i believe (not sure about what mph though). The only limitation on a '92-'93 is the fuel cutoff at 7000 RPM, at which point you should be very close to 140 mph. When i had my H23 I got it up to 137 and was very close to cutoff, but had to back down before i reached it. Quite a rush, extremely dangerous (and stupid) but it was fun

Either my speedometer is off, or the previous owner took the governer out/off ... I've hit 140 more than a few times. It's all good

I took my Prelude off this ramp, did a back flip over a house at 103mph, landed it, and proceeded to 138mph until finally a Corvette pulled up beside me, right when I engaged VTEC and hit 192mph leaving the Corvette way behind as it was very slow.
Then I woke up to still having 2 totalled Preludes and a beat up Jeep.
