Hissing sound

Theres a Hissing sound coming from the area around my brake master cylinder which I replaced about a year ago. I can hear it hiss while accelerating. And I can definately hear it when I turn off my car, the area will hiss for like 10 seconds. Has anyone had a similar problem. whats a good way to track down where the hissing is coming from?

You car's gonna blow soon!

Really, it's probably your brake booster. Do a booster test by holding down the brake pedal while the engine is running. Keep your foot there, and shut off the engine. If your brake pedal rises, it's your brake booster. (The rising of the pedal should correlate with the hissing noise).

It's a vacuum leak

Check the lines for tears and replace them and if it continues, then it may be the cylinder.

Opps... I kinda missed the part where you said it hisses when you accelerate. Yeah, it's probably a vacuum leak then. I wouldn't go as far as replacing the cylinder again though since you just replaced it last year.
