High and surging idle 92 prelude si - Honda Prelude Forum

I know it is in the stickied posts but I just can't figure out this problem. I just had a valve adjustment and my mechanic told me my fitv was causing a surging idle. So I went home and followed the procedure to block off the fitv. It still is surging from 1900 to 2200 but by accident my tps plug came undone and then I just had a high idle at about 1700. Please help me out

Sounds like the fast idle valve, all you have to do is unbolt it from the bottom of the throttle body, disconnect the coolant lines and take the plate off the back where you just have to screw that plunger back down. While you're at it you can check the electronic air control valve that's on the front of the plenum and clean out the little screen.
