hid question

i m looking into a hid conversion kit...just wondering what most people usually go for as far as 4000k 6000k 6500k and so on.

from what i know, the lower the brighter with less color (less blue or purple)...so 4000k will be bright white, 6000k is more of a blueish color.

thx

Actually, 4000k would be tinted yellow. I have a Phillips rebased bulbs and they are 4300k and have a glare of yellow on them. 6000k I think looks best, though output will not be as great as the 4300k with lighting, but I'm a ricer and it looks better in my opinion.

Here man, a Kelvin scale chart, shows what color light:

4,200 is white, 4,300 is just about white.. in that range youll be making the best light output.

I would recommend the McCulloch 6000k kit. They give off a really nice crisp white color.

i m not doing a retro...just gettin a h4 conversion kit from xenon depot...the 43k they offer is actually cheaper than the 60k...for some reason color is more expensive than actual brightness...not sure why tho

u need to remember also that the bulbs degrade over time and deviate away from the usable 4300k towards the higher K ranges...thus u see alot of older vehicles that were equipped with HID's early on with purplish lights now....im only referring to the reflector types...
