It just a simple plug and play. Plug the red wire into the positive terminal on the headlight harness. Plug the black into the negative terminal on the headlight harness.

Are you sure you plugged the wires in correctly? Did you plug in the harness on the ballast correctly? In your picture it looks like you have it plugged in the wrong way.

i have one kit like that for the headlights... but mine have the 9006 female plug for the bulbs..
make sure that you connect it the right way in the balast and the plug... the balast should say where is the positive and/or negative... and for connect it to the plug... just look for the black wire, that will be your negative wire...

If I understand you right you just plugged in the headlight harness from the car into the ballast? If so you're just lucky because most ballasts use the style plug. Unfortunately not all cars have the same wiring harness. The harness with the red and black leads allow different cars to interface with the ballast. It also provides you some slack in the wires to give you better mounting options.

dont know if you can plug the balast directly to the bulb plug... but i would stay with that wires... they have better water proof than the bulb plug... IMO... and off course better mounting options

HID trouble

I have 5 different ballasts and none of them seem to work at all... Plz check this situation to make sure that I am not actually going crazy.

The bulb (i've tried 6 bulbs) flickers on for a second and does not begin to get any brighter. I have actually cut off the stock lightbulb harness and spliced together the ballast wires to stock headlight wires. Still the same response from any of the bulbs or ballasts. Next, considering the possibility that the stock wires may not be providing enough power, I broke the splice to connected the ballast directly to the battery. It did exactly the same thing and now I am upside down without any ideas.

Please tell me that I'm missing something here...

the bulbs are new?
do they look like if they have a cloud (something white) or like a smoke (something gray) about in the middle?
