Hey... I got a Question for ya

Underneath the front seat on my 96 Si, there is a metal wire running underneath the front seats. I was wanting to remove this to make space under the front seat on the passenger side, so my question is what purpose does it serve? it is just that single strand of bare metal wire underneath there. I looked at it and couldn't figure out if it did anything at all...so am I going to mess anything up by removing it?

It joins the lock for the seat rails.. If you disconnect it then only on of the two rails will unlock when you try to move the seat..

You're gonna wanna keep that wire there if you ever want to be able to move your seat back and forth. It connects the latch on the left side of the seat to the one on the right, so when you pull the handle, both latches pop and the seat slides.
