Hey guys jay here...you got a minute???

Hey guys this is jay...

As some of you may notice im from middle jersey.
i have an SH with nothing more than an intake and apex n1.

I was wondering if any you guys/gals know of anyone that has an NA setup but travels without a
catalytic converter???

Is there a big difference in power gains?
What does one put in place of the cat especially
even after one all ready purchased a cat back exhaust system?
Also does one pass OR more importantly CAN one pass DMV inspection in NJ without the cat?

Supposing I wanna move to another state how can
I just put on the cat and take it off again??

also can you recommend a place that will "pass"
one without a cat? One of my friends had an 89 corrola
that didn't pass smog inspection and he floated the inspector a 20 spot and he let it slide, this was at the DMV.

I don't know if it'll work now cuz this was like 3 years ago.

for those of you that respond with solutions you can either post here or email me at

na_sh010@yahoo.com

thanks
jay.

get a test pipe as replacement... and i know it's real easy to put back the cat... most honda's pass smog test without a cat, but it might not pass visual inspection...

my cat was all messed up but the car still passed smog without a problem.

i dont know about the sound... my bro's 240sx has a test pipe and it sounds more quiet than with the cat... his engine is also a 2.4 liter N/A... some people say its louder...

anyone?

I know Vern was driving around for a while without a cat. He could probably answer some questions for you. In your case, I think you'd have some problems because of your secondary o2 sensor. I think that without the cat your CEL would come on. I'm not sure though, I don't really know how OBD2 functions.
