Here's a weird one for you...

Hey guys,

I've noticed this really weird problem with my 4th Gen recently. After I've been driving a while, if I'm in neutral and I turn the steering wheel, it makes the car vibrate. I can even hear the heat shield on the exhaust rattle when I turn the seteering wheel which means it's shaking fairly hard. What I need to mention is that it only shakes while the steering wheel is being turned, then it stops. Then if I turn it again, it shakes and then stops. So basically only when there is movement from the steering wheel it does it. I know that I am due for a new O2 sensor since I'm still running on the original one after 10 years, however I don't see how this could be the cause. Could it just be the power steering belt?

How is your idle? If its too low, the additional drag from the PS pump will do that.

I get the same thing too.... except its like a little shake for a second... I just think its normal b/c when you're turning the wheel while you're on a stop (in neutral basically).... it takes a significant amount of power to turn that wheel... so you'll see your rpm raise up for a few seconds.. then go back down to regular idle speed...

thats how I see it...

If I'm driving to work and I've been sitting in traffic or doing a lot of stop and go driving, then it idles a little low and very rough. I would imagine that my old O2 sensor is probably causing this?
