Help! What kind of distributor does this car have?

In a swapped h23 to h22a, how do you determine what kind of disty it is?
Trying to order parts sucks lol.

If it's the jdm disty, I use 90-91 accord caps. So... what kind of cap is it, I couldn't find anything or the search is still broke.

TIA!

--external coil, haven't taken the cap off (don't want it to break, it's dry rotted)

or am I just looking into this too much and just get a usdm h22 cap/rotor?

All USDM 4th gen Preludes use the same Distributor Cap, so if you're sure its not the JDM H22 Distributor w/ internal coil then you'll be safe getting a USDM 4th gen Cap

JDM h22a has an internal coil. If you look at the distributor cap theres only 4 wires on it.
If you have a usdm h22a1 or a whatever it's a external coil. Theres 5 wires on the cap. The 5th wire is from the cap to the coil.

it's a converted h22a dizzy. Not a usdm one, looks like it has the extra wires coming out of the dizzy AND the 5 wire cap... fun fun.

^ahhh i see...

well in that case, do you know if you are using the external coil?

either that or king motorsports sells internal / external h22 dizzies for an arm and a leg. you might want to go junkyard or ask mike95lude if he has em cheap

Ask Mike. I couldn't be more impressed with him and the company he works for.

it's a 94 internal coil h22a dizzy converted to external coil.
I don't think i'll need a new dizzy, just don't see why we CAN'T use the internal coil. swap the signal wires and voila.
