help with throttle body butterfly valve sticking

as the title states... my butterfly is sticking closed.... ive cleaned it completely a few times... every time the problem still occurred. would it be bad to tighten the idle screw just a hair so that the valve doesnt close completely? because thats the only time it sticks.... if i let of the throttle as gently as i can, it will be perfectly fine next time i press the gas, but if i let off normally, it will stick and ill have to press the gas fairly hard to pop it loose.. which doesnt make for smooth driving... you can imagine how it is when i let off hard... i feel like im gonna snap the throttle cable when i try and pop it loose... sooo question is... what do you suggest?

Is your throttle cable frayed? It sounds like it could be potentially sticking in the sheathing.

no it is most definitely the butterfly valve itself... turning the little wheel the cable spins was difficult
