Help!!!!!! Prelude problems

Can anyone help me??

My 92' Prelude (f22a1) has had problems starting for a while now but last week completly died while I was driving it and now will not start. I have gotten four mechanics and three auto electricians look at it and had the following work done.

- ECM
- Spark plugs
- Ignition Coil
- Distributor cap
- Rotor
- Fuel line checked and cleaned
- Fuel filter
- Injectors Cleaned
- Fuel pump checked

All this has been done and still no success. The car used to do this but I was always able to roll start it. The car cranks well but nothing else. Please help me I need my car urgently!!!!!

Main relay controls the fuel pump ( if im right ).. , if the relay is bad the fuel pump whont work causing your car just to crank and not start

only time my 92 ever died on me while driving the ignition coil went out.

starting problems had to do with my main relay, but i've lived with the main relay problem for 4+ years and it never died on my while driving. just my account though. i'd bet on the coil though. cost about the same price as the main relay.

Because the majority of us have had and fixed this problem as above. Experience doesnt lie my friend.

Just me but i never just go and start replacing parts on a whim. I always test everything before i buy parts.

(If you try the main relay, and it doesn't work...)

It is possible that your timing belt is the issue... that it's loose, has slipped... or something like that.

Manually crank your engine to TDC. Then, open up your distributor cap. Tell us exactly where your distributor's rotor is facing. Heck, if you can, take a picture. It would help more.

The auto electrician checked all that, not sure about the timing belt though, I have pretty much given up and taken it to another auto elec. (It's costing me about $100 per day not having it) will get them to check it out..... The weird thing is that before it was only starting by key every now and then but it would always roll start......... Another problem i'd like to mention is that my clock used to just randomly start ticking hours over at the rate of seconds at completly random times? Could this be a fault with the ECU?

John, check your timing belt.

Your previously successful roll starts tell me it is most likely a mechanical problem, not electrical. However, do not omit electrical failure as a possibility.

Your clock is not controlled by the ECU.

I'm betting on the ignition switch. If it would sometimes start by key but always when roll starting, that sounds like the switch, not a timing belt issue

If you set the key to the 'On' position, does the dash light up like its supposed to?
